A dish that isn’t just quick but is also tasty enough to make the guests feel delighted and well treated because we don’t want our guests to be turning home displeased of the undercooked and distasteful food.

So we did the effort of compiling 10 recipes that you can serve your guests fresh and quick:

Achari Paneer

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Serving: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 to 1/2 tomatoes chopped
  • 1/3 to 1/2 green capsicum cubed
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. mustard oil
  • 1/2 kalonji
  • 1/8 tsp Hing
  • 1/2 cup onions chopped
  • 1/2 tsp A-1 SPICES ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp A-1 SPICES garlic paste
  • 1/8 tsp Haldi/turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp A-1 SPICES chili powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt or little more
  • 1/3 cup fresh dahi/yogurt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 200 grams cubed paneer
  • The handful of coriander leaves
  • Shredded ginger (optional)
  • Lemon juice (optional)
  • A-1 SPICES achaar gosht masala

Method:

  1. Heat oil in the pan. Add kalonji seeds
  2. When they splutter add hing
  3. Immediately add finely chopped onions and sauté until gold
  4. Add A-1 SPICES ginger paste, A-1 SPICES garlic paste and sauté till the raw smell goes away
  5. Lower the flame and add in the A-1 SPICES achaar gosht masala
  6. Sauté till the nice aroma comes out just for 1 or 2 mins. Do not over fry to prevent bitterness
  7. Puree tomato and capsicum. Pour the tomato capsicum puree.
  8. Sauté till the moisture evaporates. The mixture turns thick.
  9. Add A-1 SPICES red chili powder, turmeric, salt and sugar
  10. Mix and fry on a low heat for 2 mins. The masala leaves the pan by now.
  11. Add half of the yogurt to the pan. Mix well with the masala.
  12. Add the other half and repeat it.
  13. Cook until the masala leaves the pan.
  14. Pour water and make gravy.
  15. Cover and cook until the gravy thickens.
  16. At this stage, you will see traces of oil on top. Mix everything well.
  17. Add paneer and ginger.
  18. Mix and cover the pan.
  19. Cook on a low heat for 2 mins.
  20. Add coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
  21. Transfer achari paneer to a serving bowl. If you prefer more tang, then add lemon juice.

Roti Burrito

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Serving: 8

Ingredients:

Keema with beans

  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1 onion, very finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 cm piece ginger, minced
  • 400g minced meat
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp A-1 SPICES chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds, crushed
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds, crushed
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp. tomato puree
  • 400g/1 tin kidney beans, drained
  • Handful fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped

Tomato Kachumber

  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 chili, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp kalonji seeds

Method:

Keema Filling:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and on a medium heat, start to fry the finely chopped onions.
  2. After 5 minutes, add the minced ginger and garlic until everything is golden brown.
  3. Add the mincemeat, chopped chilies, spices and salt, and stir-fry until the meat has browned.
  4. Squeeze in the tomato puree and a splash of water with the beans. Leave the mixture to cook thoroughly, stirring occasionally until all the liquid has evaporated. This will take about 10 minutes.
  5. The filling must be nice and dry. Leave to cool a little then add the chopped coriander leaves

Tomato kachumber

  1. Finely dice the red onions, tomato, chili and place into a bowl with coriander.
  2. Squeeze in the lemon and sprinkle in the salt and kalonji seeds. Stir and serve.

To assemble:

  1. Spoon the keema mixture into the roti
  2. Add a spoonful of the tomato kachumber with a few salad leaves and roll up the burrito

Easy Chicken Curry

Preparation time: 35 minutes

Serving: 8 serving

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 400g chicken thigh fillets, trimmed and chopped
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 3cm fresh ginger
  • 1 or 2 green chilies
  • 200g plum tomato tin, pureed
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp A-1 SPICES red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Large pinch of fresh coriander, chopped

Method:

  1. Blend the onions in a food processor.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion paste. If it starts to stick, just add a little water and stir.
  3. Stir in the salt to help the onions cook.
  4. Put the ginger, garlic, and chilies into a blender and blend to a paste (add a little water if required)
  5. After 10 minutes of cooking the onions, they should have browned a little. Now stir in the garlic, ginger and chili paste.
  6. Once softened add the pureed tinned tomatoes and increase the heat until the tomatoes start to simmer.
  7. Reduce the heat and add the turmeric, A-1 SPICES red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook together until the tomatoes and onions start to break down and the masala dries up and becomes paste-like.
  8. Add chicken pieces into the masala. Stir well and cook for a few minutes. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting and put the lid on the pan. Leave to cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring intermittently.
  9. The chicken should be cooked through. To add a little more gravy, pour in some hot water and stir before removing from the heat.
  10. Check the seasoning and adjust if you need to. Sprinkle in the coriander and stir.
  11. Serve with plain rice or roti.

Baked Chicken Schnitzel

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Serving: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as desired
  • 6 chicken breasts, cut in half lengthwise (butterflied)
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon A-1 SPICES red chili powder
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 large lemon zested

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and drizzle olive oil over foil. Place baking sheet in preheated oven.
  2. Flatten chicken breasts so they are all about 1/4-inch thick. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix flour and paprika together on a large plate. Beat eggs with salt and pepper in a shallow bowl. Mix bread crumbs and lemon zest together on a separate large plate. Dredge each chicken piece in flour mixture, then egg, and then breadcrumbs mixture and set aside in 1 layer on a clean plate. Repeat with remaining chicken.
  4. Remove baking sheet from oven and arrange chicken in 1 layer on the sheet. Drizzle more olive oil over each piece of coated chicken.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 6 minutes. Flip chicken and continue baking until no longer pink in the center and the breading is lightly browned, 5 to 6 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Serving: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1-pound beef round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 2 green bell peppers, cut into 1/4 inch strips
  • 2 onions, sliced into rings
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise and toasted
  •  1 (8 ounces) package shredded mozzarella cheese
  •  1 teaspoon dried oregano

Method:

  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and minced garlic. Cover, and refrigerate. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté beef until lightly browned. Stir in green pepper and onion, and season with salt and pepper. Sauté until vegetables are tender, and remove from heat.
  3. Spread each bun generously with garlic mayonnaise. Divide beef mixture into the buns. Top with shredded cheese, and sprinkle with oregano. Place sandwiches on a baking pan.
  4. Heat sandwiches in the preheated oven, until cheese is melted or slightly browned.
